Annual Day of Patanjali Gurukulam celebrated with grandeur
The annual day celebrations of Patanjali Gurukulam was held with grandeur at the auditorium of Patanjali University.
The wax sculpture was unveiled at an event in the national capital on Tuesday.
Yoga guru Ramdev’s wax sculpture will be placed amongst more than 200 statues of prominent world figures at the famous Madame Tussauds museum at Times Square in the US.

Ramdev expressed his gratitude and said the wax figure is not only about honouring him, but taking into account the rich Indian culture. He said he considers this as an important recognition of the global influence of Indian culture, especially Yoga and Ayurveda.

“The honour symbolizes much more than my personal journey, and represents ancient spiritual wisdom of India which is based on the principle of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’,” he said.
The Yoga guru also spoke of Patanjali’s aim to have a large number of schools imparting Gurukul-inspired education in a bid to incorporate such values and ethics that will help save the world from every kind of terrorism.
Appreciating the attention to detail and accuracy of the wax figure developed by the Madame Tussauds team, he said they matched even the tiny hair on his body and created a real life-like sculpture.
Apart from Ramdev, Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s sculptures are already placed at the Madame Tussauds in the New York city.
A senior official of the Madame Tussauds New York, Tiago Mogodouro, said Baba Ramdev’s commitment to society through Yoga and the introduction of the Ayurveda culture, and his advocacy for healthy living is a gift for everyone.
“It stands as a testament to the profound impact and global reach of his teachings,” he added.
